Lightroom Preset – Summer Holiday

Wed, Jul 16, 2008

Presets

This newest edition to our contextual presets takes all the things we love about summer holidays, wraps them up into a nice green package, and delivers that mid-day summertime holiday feel to your images.

We have this old-school sprinkler that, to me, is the one true symbol of summer that has so many great memories attached to it.

That being said, allow me to introduce our newest contextual preset to the x= family: x=summer+holiday

A couple things to note:

  • As you know, I like to go HEAVY on the vignetting, so adjust for your images accordingly
  • This preset applies a entire stop (+1.00) to the exposure, so adjust to your liking
  • The HSL sliders for Aqua and Blue are the heart and soul of this mood altering preset, so tread lightly

This preset blew my mind. It is awesome and you deserve all the credits. I use this preset without the luminance and color noise reduction and it creates stunning results. It brings color in my B&W photography.

    Cheers,

[...] Color processing I have mostly shot color slides before I went digital. I loved Fuji slides, because of the toning and colors. Since going digital I got more problems with the colors. They may be accurate, but were simply not my taste. I also thought, and still think so, that B&W focuses the viewer more to the subject and emphasises the composition of the photograph. Not be said that I lost interest in color photography, but I am still in search of the holy grail. Right now I discovered this great Lightroom preset x=summer+holiday on the blog x-equals.com. It is a free available preset licensed as Creative Commons. You can download it here. [...]
