We’ve now partnered to bring you the X-Equals + LIDF Creative Production Presets*: a batch of productivity, creative, and toolkit Lightroom Presets sure to bring some formality to your workflow as well as a big dose of inspiration (*requires Lightroom 2.0 or higher).
You get 75+ Lightroom Presets that not only bring a new level of creativity to your work, but some serious workflow automation to help you get back to what you do best – shooting photos!
Don’t take our word for it, here’s what others are saying!
I’ve just started using x-equals’ Creative Production Presets and have to say I’m very impressed. There’s a huge selection of presets to choose from and they really kick-start the creative process for me. I’m also using the Cold Storage Film presets and I had no idea there were so many films available back in the day. Bottom line – x-equals presets rock!

What’s included in the download?
Ok you asked for it, here’s a complete list of everything included in the download.
Monochrome Toolkit
This toolkit includes 27 presets to help you in your quest for magnificent monochromes and each preset is designed to be stacked together to create your desired effect. There are a few groups of presets in the download and they can be applied in any order.
First we have the X-Equals + LIDF film presets. These 5 presets are designed to simulate generic styles of film:
- X-Equals + LIDF – Infrared Film: Creates an image that simulates the response of Infra-Red films.
- X-Equals + LIDF – Ortho Film: Creates an image simulating Orthochromatic film which is sensitive to only green and blue light – also the first style of black and white film to be mass produced.
- X-Equals + LIDF – Pan Film: Creates an effect much like that of most modern B&W films. Panchromatic films are sensitive to the entire visible light spectrum.
- X-Equals + LIDF – Ortho Pan Film: Simulates Orthopanchromatic film. Much like Pan film, but less sensitivity to the reds in an image.
- X-Equals + LIDF – Pan Super Film: Simulates Superpanchromatic films that have an extended red response.
Then we have 8 X-Equals + LIDF – Filter presets that simulate the effect of different colored – Filters on black and white film. Their names are self-explanatory:
- X-Equals + LIDF – Aqua Filter
- X-Equals + LIDF – Blue Filter
- X-Equals + LIDF – Green Filter
- X-Equals + LIDF – Magenta Filter
- X-Equals + LIDF – Orange Filter
- X-Equals + LIDF – Purple Filter
- X-Equals + LIDF – Red Filter
- X-Equals + LIDF – Yellow Filter
Next we have the 7 X-Equals + LIDF - Paper presets that simulate the different grades of contrast possible with Variable Contrast (VC) photo – Paper:
- X-Equals + LIDF – Paper – VC-00: Creates a very low contrast image that is very soft
- X-Equals + LIDF – Paper – VC-0: Another very low contrast setting and is less soft than 00
- X-Equals + LIDF – Paper – VC-1: Low contrast and soft
- X-Equals + LIDF – Paper – VC-2: Creates a balanced image with medium contrast and tone
- X-Equals + LIDF – Paper – VC-3: Create a higher contrast image that is slightly sharp
- X-Equals + LIDF – Paper – VC-4: Creates a high contrast image that is sharp
- X-Equals + LIDF – Paper – VC-5: Creates a very high-contrast image that is extremely sharp
Then there is 1 X-Equals + LIDF print preset:
- X-Equals + LIDF Print – Lith: simulates the effect of a lithographic print shot on B&W film printed on Lith - Paper. This preset creates images with low contrast and low detail.
Finally we have 6 X-Equals + LIDF- Toning presets that simulate different, traditional- Toning techniques:
- X-Equals + LIDF – Toning – Copper: Creates a rich orange- Toning
- X-Equals + LIDF – Toning – Cyanotype: Creates a light blue- Toning
- X-Equals + LIDF – Toning – Palladium: Creates a slight metallic- Toning trending toward brown
- X-Equals + LIDF – Toning – Selenium: Creates a metallic- Toning trending toward blue
- X-Equals + LIDF – Toning – Sepia: Creates a subtle brown- Toning, but you probably knew that

I keep telling myself that I’m going to master LR and presets – but Photoshop is still my comfort zone. I’m not yet good enough at tweaking presets to my liking to kick the PS habit, but I sure would like to be. These look awesome
